PSYCHEDELICS AND CHILDHOOD TRAUMA STUDY

Are you planning to attend a psychedelic

facilitated group ceremony or retreat
(using, for example, ayahuasca/yagé,
psilocybin mushrooms or truffles,
San Pedro/huachuma, peyote,
and/or bufo/5-MeO-DMT)?


Or are you planning to take a psychedelic
(such as LSD, mushrooms, MDMA/ecstasy,

2C-B, or ketamine) at a

rave, music festival, nightclub,

or other electronic dance music event?

Do you have therapeutic intentions

for your psychedelic use,

such as intentions for psychological healing

healing or processing childhood trauma,

or improving mental health and well-being?

Do you have a history of

child maltreatment, 

such as physical, sexual, or emotional abuse

or physical or emotional neglect?

Including any of these experiences as a child:

  • Being punished with a belt or hard object; or being hit so hard by a family member that it left bruises or marks, that you had to see a doctor or go to the hospital, or that a teacher, neighbor, or doctor noticed 

  • Being insulted, degraded, called names, demeaned, or humiliated by family members; believing your parents wished you'd never been born; or feeling that a family member hated you

  • Being touched in a sexual way or molested; being made to do or watch sexual things; or being threatened or coerced into doing sexual things with someone 

  • Not having enough to eat; having to wear dirty clothes; having parents who were too drunk or high to take care of you; or not having anyone you could rely on to take care of you and protect you

  • Feeling no one in your family loved you; feeling no one in your family made you feel valued, special, or important; feeling that people in your family did not look out for each other; or feeling that your family was not a source of strength and support for you

 

Are you 18 years or older and fluent in English?

If so, you may be eligible to receive $30 to participate in a research study being conducted at

the New School for Social Research.

Note: All identifying information, such as your name, email address, and any other identifying information, will remain confidential. Identifying information will be stored on a secure server, and all research data will be de-identified (i.e., stored anonymously and separately from any identifying information).
